The Paro Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Bhutan which begins on the 10th day of the 2nd month of the Bhutanese calendar and ends on 15th day of the 2nd month of the Bhutanese calendar.

This tour covers the most popular tourist destinations like Thimpu, the capital city and the country’s only one airport Paro. This cultural tour helps you to explore the unique culture and traditions, marvelous arts and crafts and religion of the mountain kingdom of Bhutan.

The 15 days Bhutan Cultural Tour starts from the Paro International Airport and the historical town of Paro. The next day you visit Thimphu and Punakha. Tigers Nest, Paro dzong and Ta dzong are the main highlight of Paro. In Thimphu you will visit Tashi Cho Dzong, Sangay viewpoint, mini zoo and Chimi Lakhang. You will also visit Punakha Dzong, Jakar Dzong, Gangtey Gompa, Phobjikha Valley, Bumthang, Trongsa, Trashiyangtse, Trashigang and Mongar.


Day 1: Arrival in Paro, transfer to Thimphu (A, B, L, D)

A super scenic flight brings you to the small valley of Paro. Upon your arrival in Paro you can have the impressive look of High Himalayan Rang. If the weather is clear you also can have the view of Mt.Everest. The landing, flying through the Paro valley between the 4000m high mountains, brings completely new experience on you. Our Bhutanese representative will welcome you and will assist to transfer you in your hotel in Thimpu. You may relax at your hotel or visit to the several places of Thimpu. Thimphu is the capital city of Bhutan situated on the banks of the Thimphu Chu and set gloriously in the hills of the Thimphu valley. The city is spread out longitudinally in a north-south direction on the west bank of the valley formed by the Wang Chuu, also known as the Thimphu Chuu River and is a home to the Bhutanese Royal Family, the Royal Government to several foreign missions and development projects. Thimphu, as the political and economic centre of Bhutan, has a dominant agricultural and livestock base and the culture of Bhutan is fully reflected in Thimphu in respect of literature, religion, customs, and national dress code. Later visit: Tashichho Dzong Mini zoo Sangaygang View Point


Day 2: Thimphu (A, B, L, D)

This is the rest day at Thimpu. If you are tired then you can relax in your hotel. Today we hike to Cheri Monastry which takes approximately 2 hours. Later you can stroll around on your own wish or you can explore the vicinity of Thimpu city. Further you can go for shopping if you like.


Day 3: Thimphu – Trongsa (A, B, L, D)

On this day, we stroll around the Bhutanese market. It is a very good chance for you to explore the Bhutanese lifestyle, tradition and culture. We can see people from all walks of Bhutanese society who come to buy fresh products. If we are lucky then we can see the archery matches at the Changlimithang ground. During weekends we can also see the archery matches at the Changlimithang ground which is the national game of Bhutan. Later we visit Memorial Chorten. We then drive towards Trongsa which takes approximately 6 hours. We then come across the Pass, Dochula situated at the altitude of 3140m or 10362ft and it offers the magnificent panoramic view of High Himalayans.


Day 4: Trongsa - Bumthang (A, B, L, D)

After a hearty breakfast we move for a morning hike to Trongsa which is a town and capital of Trongsa district in central Bhutan which literary means "new village" in Dzongkha. And Dzong is one of the most impressive in the country because it provided the seat of power for both the first and the second Kings of Bhutan. We then take drive to Bumthang which takes approximately 3-4 hours and if the time permits we visit Hand Loom Factory on the way to Bumthang. Overnight at Bumthang.


Day 5: Bumthang - Mongar (A, B, L, D)

Today we take a great drive which takes about 8 hours enjoying the scenic landscape of Bhutan to reach Mongar where we stop for the night.


Day 6: Mongar Rest Day (A, B, L, D)

This is the day when we trek to Khoma Village from Khurbazam where some of the most famous and expensive textiles are woven in silk and cotton. Khoma village is famous for Kishuthara weaving which is helping the local people to improve their economic status as it is their main income source. A visit to Mongar Dzong shows a distinctive type of fortress architecture found in the present and former Buddhist kingdoms like Bhutan.


Day 7: Mongar – Trashigang (A, B, L, D)

Leaving Morang we drive to Trashigang. Trashing is known as the country`s largest district which lies in the far east side of the valley above the Drangme Chhu River just south of where it is joined by the Gamri River. Trashigang town was once the center for a busy trade with Tibet. We visit the Trashigang Dzong (fortress was built in 1659) and stroll around the town.


Day 8: Trashigang - Trashiyangtse – Trashigang (A, B, L, D)

After a hearty breakfast we go for excursion to Trashi Yangtse with picnic lunch which takes almost 2 hours drive from Trashigang. Trashiyangtse is famous for its unique wooden crafts.Later we visit the Chorten Kora and Gom Kora which is similar to the stupa of Boudhanath in Nepal and was built in 1740. We then drive back to Trashigang for overnight stop.


Day 9: Trashigang - Bumthang (A, B, L, D)

Today we take a great drive which takes about 10 hours enjoying the scenic landscape of Bhutan to reach Bumthang where we stop for the night.


Day 10: Bumthang (A, B, L, D)

On this day we visit to Kurjey Lhakhang (Means body print), Tamzing Lhakhang (Temple of good message), (Kenchosum Lhakhang), Chakhar (Iron Castle) Lhakhang, Jakar Dzong, Mebar Tsho (Lake of Burning Fire), Ura Village ( a vantage point to have magnificent view of Mount Gangkhar Phuensum from Ura La Pass). Later we stroll around the town and explore the surroundings. Overnight at Bumthang.


Day 11: Bumthang - Punakha (A, B, L, D)

After a hearty breakfast we drive to Punakha town. If time permits us then we visit Wangdue Dzong on the way to Punakha town. Wangdue Dzong has a unique town to look around with small huts by the side of the road and the scenic landscape.


Day 12: Punakha (A, B, L, D)

On this day we visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) and then we take a drive to Paro and if we have sufficient time we also visit the National Meuseum at Ta Dzong and Paro Rimpung Dzong.


Day 13: Punakha - Paro (A, B, L, D)

After a hearty breakfast we go for morning hike to Kham Sum Yule Lhakhang (Monastery) which was built by HRH Azhi (Queen) Tshering Pem Wangchuck for a successful rule of the present King. Later we visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) and then we take a drive to Paro and if we have sufficient time we also visit the National Meuseum at Ta Dzong and Paro Rimpung Dzong .


Day 10: Paro - Taktsang Monastery, Tiger`s Nest (A, B, L, D)

If you are tired then you can relax in your hotel. Today we hike to Taktsang Monastry which is Bhutan`s most recognizable cultural icon lounged up a seemingly sheer cliff. Although it was tragically and mysteriously consumed by fire in April 1998 it has now been restored to its former glory. It is one of the popular Monastery of Bhutan. Later we descend down the valley and drive back to Thimpu. In the late afternoon we will reach Thimpu and walk to the main city and get a chance to explore the Bhutanese lifestyle, tradition and culture. Overnight at Hotel.


Day 15: Paro, departure (B)

Your Bhutan Tour has come to an end today. Today is free or last minute to enjoy in Bhutan. If you have days left and ready for next trip then let us know. If not our representative will transfer you to the International Airport for your departure flight to your onwards destination, taking with us the memories of wonderful moments spend with us.
